The 16th Annual Breakin’ Bread Food, Wine & Beer Festival raises $8,000 for Jones Valley Teaching Farm.
Pegged the ‘Local Flavor Festival’, Breakin’ Bread brings together over 30 of the city’s best restaurants, local sips and award-winning chefs all into one space! The festival is presented by the Birmingham Originals – a coalition of local, independently owned restaurants. It is a foodie’s paradise that’s packed with flavours, like maple-bourbon glazed pork tenderloin, New Orleans-style bread pudding with whiskey sauce, fish tacos with cilantro mayo and blue crab cakes with roasted garlic and lemon brown butter. And be sure to leave room for Belgian chocolate pot de crème, apple fritters and chocolate pudding.
Sunday, September 24, 2017 - Mark your calendar now for the 15th Annual Breakin' Bread! The Local Flavor Festival celebrates 15 years of serving the best food in Birmingham at Alabama's premiere Food, Wine and Beer Festival. Join over 30 of your favorite restaurants at Historic Sloss Furnaces for an afternoon of unlimited signature dishes. Refresh with wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages while enjoying an afternoon of musical entertainment and cooking demonstrations as well. Foodies rejoice! Breakin’ Bread, Alabama’s premier food festival, returned to showcase the best of Birmingham’s culinary talents.
Presented by the Birmingham Originals, Breakin’ Bread, The Local Flavor Festival, took place at historic Sloss Furnaces on Sunday, September 25, from 1-5pm.
The Birmingham Originals presented the Fourth Annual Beer Dinner at Regions Field during the July 13th Birmingham Barons game. The evening featured food prepared by seven of your favorite Birmingham Originals' restaurants. Each signature dish was expertly paired with hand-crafted beer from local Alabama breweries. Guests enjoyed the dinner during the game from the private party suite overlooking first base with spectacular views of our great city.

Birmingham Originals presented the premiere food and wine festival in Alabama, Breakin’ Bread, The Local Flavor Festival 2015 at Sloss Furnaces on Sunday, September 27th from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Event proceeds directly benefited children in the Birmingham area through Camp Smile-A-Mile and Make-A-Wish Alabama.
Birmingham Originals’ participated in the 4th Annual Chefs for the Cure on June 11, 2015 at The Club.
The Birmingham Originals presented the third annual Beer Dinner at Regions Field during the May 14th Birmingham Barons game.
Since 2003, Birmingham Originals has hosted the Magic City's premier food and wine festival, Breakin' Bread. The annual festival is being promoted by the Alabama Department of Tourism as part of "The Year of Alabama Food" campaign, which highlights Alabama's burgeoning culinary scene. And last year, Breakin' Bread was selected as a Top 10 attraction in Alabama.
