The words “Bottega Favorita” are chiseled into this beautiful 1920’s Beaux-Arts building, housing the second and third of Pardis and Frank Stitt’s family of restaurants. Bottega is both sophisticated and rustic. The food and atmosphere beautifully echo the cuisine and culture of Italy, and each of the varied and distinct regions from the Veneto to the Bay of Naples. Open since 1988, the seasonal menu emphasizes the strengths of local Southern produce and traditional techniques of Italian country cuisine. The mezzanine level is ideal for business dinners and private parties.
Modeled after an Italian trattoria, Bottega Café (next door to Bottega Restaurant in the same lovely Beaux-Arts building on Highland Avenue) is a workshop of sorts, featuring an open kitchen and a wood-fired brick oven that produces pizzas, roasted fish and baked pastas. In the tradition of the wonderful open-air cafés of Europe, the bustling front patio offers the perfect setting for a relaxed lunch or dinner, and an ideal spot to while away the afternoon. Opened in 1990, Bottega Café is known for its welcoming atmosphere and rustic menu. Exciting and vibrant, the Café is a fun urban hangout with a patio favored for afternoon cocktails or late night summer dinners.
