Tasos Touloupis

Tasos came to United States from Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1978 to attend the University of Alabama. He graduated in 1983 with a B.S Degree in Aerospace Engineering. After graduation he took a job with Ebsco, but was quickly drawn back into the food service industry. Tasos has held several management positions over the years including RiverChase Country Club, Sawgrass Country Club, (Florida), Wynfrey Hotel & most recently Hoover Country Club. During his time spent at the country clubs, he assembled incredible teams to create wonderful wedding and events. With the country club experience, he learned the keys to success…… which are building relationships and great food.

Tasos purchased Ted's Restaurant with his wife Beba in 2000. Tasos was able to use his extensive food service knowledge and relations to continue the great southern tradition that the Sarris family had created. Ted's has been serving southern breakfast and lunch since 1973. Ted's still remains a lunch time favorite in the downtown community. Along with the successful restaurant, Tasos has been able to establish a successful catering side of the business. Ted's Restaurant joined the Birmingham Originals in 2008. Tasos is in his 2nd year as a board member and currently holds the position of Treasurer of the Board. Tasos has always appreciated the support of the customers and encourages people to eat local. Throughout his entire food service industry experiences in Greece and Alabama, he has learned the art of building relationships, great food, and southern hospitality.
