Maureen Holt

You'll find a warm welcome at Little Savannah's Restaurant and Bar from Maureen Holt's intimate restaurant in historic Forest Park. At 15, she was determined to get through school and have her own business. Throughout the years becoming experienced in all facets of running the Front of the House, in 2003, she and her husband opened Little Savannah. The continuation of her Southern roots are maintained not only in the cookery of the restaurant, (with the help of co-owner and chef husband) but in her culinary cocktails expressing the continuity of indegenous ingredients and Southern tradition.

Maureen trained as a Maitre D' at Bottega Restaurant sharing her yen for top-notch service, however she found her herself wanting to provide a little slower paced feel, an unpretentious approach of southern hospitality. When she is not in the restaurant, you will find her digging in the dirt out back, alongside a fertile kitchen-garden, riding her Harley alongside her husband Clif, or taking time out with her daughter to visit their famers. 'Knowing where your food comes from is most important in cultivating a culture, a future, and a past'.

Maureen has been on the Board of the Birmingham Originals for 6 years.
