Birmingham Originals Welcome Music City Chefs In The Magic City For Gala Dinner

(BIRMINGHAM, AL) ? The Birmingham Originals, a group of Birmingham?s best locally-owned restaurants, is pleased to announce the inaugural Music City Chefs in the Magic City Gala Dinner. The dinner will kick off with cocktails on Monday, October 10 at 6:30pm at Ocean in downtown Birmingham?s trendy Five Points neighborhood, with dinner commencing at 7:00pm. The Originals have handpicked four celebrated chefs from Nashville to host the post Break ?n Bread dinner, including Chef/Owner Pat Martin of Martin?s Bar-B-Que, Chef/Co-owner Will Ulhorn of Table 3, Chef Ashley Quick of Flyte and Pastry Chef Rebekah Turshen of City House.
The Gala Dinner will feature a prix-fixe menu from the chefs and wine pairings from Charles Yeates of International Wines. Menu items for the evening will include a Smoked Pork Belly with molasses bourbon glaze from Chef Pat Martin; Benton?s Country Ham & Duck Breast Roulade with orange confit, cranberries and pecans from Chef Will Ulhorn; a Lamb Neck Rillette served with Sea Island red peas, local squash and chow chow from Chef Ashley Quick; and a Pan-Seared Scallop with fava bean puree, salt cod fritter, roasted baby beets and beet emulsion from Ocean?s George Reis. For dessert, City House?s Rebekah Turshen will treat diners to a Lemon Almond Ricotta Cake with buttermilk panna cotta and lemon syrup.
